Things to consider when buying a projector

Things to consider when buying a projector

Projectors are one of the best inventions in the field of multimedia. This new technology is able to zoom in an image and project it towards a flat surface so that more people can view the illustration with ease. It has greatly helped businesses in presentations, meetings and also for those people, who want the cinema affect in their own homes.

There are many different types of projectors available and finding the best one to suit you is not always easy.

The different types of projectors include:

Home Theatre Projectors
Cinema Projectors
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Projectors
Digital Projectors
Conference Room Projectors
Portable Multimedia Projectors

Home Theater/Cinema Projectors provide home entertainment; they can be used for many purposes, such as; playing movies, DVDs, music, video games, connecting your laptop/PC.

LCD Projectors provide clearer, sharper images than most of their counterparts; they create images by shining light through three small LCD panels which are very vibrant and sharp in colour. LCD projectors can be used for movies at home aswell as for presentations. Ideally they need to be used in dimly light rooms to produce quality images.

Digital Projectors allow the user to use video files on their PC and makes internet viewing very effective. There are two types of projectors to choose from, DLP and LCD. When purchasing a digital projector one important factor to look for is the amount of lumens the projector projects. This is the quantity of different aspects of light that are available at one time.

Portable Multimedia Projectors are very light so that you can carry them round when necessary. These types of projectors are able to produce noise-free presentations with fairly accurate images.

When buying digital projectors the main key points to focus on are:
• -Resolution
• -Lumens
• -Throw Distance
• -Contrast Ratio
• -Lamp Life

Other things to consider when buying digital projectors are the price of the projector, design of the projector and also the weight of the projector and any other extra features that the projector may have or you need the projector to include.
